On July 30, 2024 at approximately 9am, Port Alberni RCMP responded to a report of a male stabbed in the 3600 Block of McIntyre Drive.
Police arrived to find a male suffering from multiple stab wounds. Police and Port Alberni Fire Department (PAFD) provided first aid to the victim until Paramedics arrived. The victim was air lifted to a Victoria area hospital to receive emergency medical attention.
RCMP obtained multiple statements and reviewed CCTV at the scene and in the surrounding area. Police Dog Services was deployed to assist in the search for two male suspects that fled on foot.
Suspects were observed leaving the scene running west toward Wood Avenue near Redford Street. The suspects have been identified however, both remain outstanding.
Police have no reason to believe that there is a risk to the public.
Port Alberni RCMP are asking anyone with information about the stabbing, to call the RCMP at 250-723-2424 or attend the Port Alberni RCMP detachment at 4444 Morton Street.
