A Kamloops man was taken into custody as part of an investigation which saw a police presence on the North Shore today.
Just before 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, members of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), with the support of frontline officers, attended a residence on the 1800-block of Parkcrest Avenue, where they executed a search warrant as part of a property crime investigation.
A portion of the roadway near Laroque Street was closed for approximately two hours while police officers were present. A stolen ebike and dirtbike were recovered from the address.
Just before 2 p.m., a suspect was arrested on Tranquille Road as part of the ongoing investigation. He currently remains in custody.
The property in question is one that is well-known to the neighbourhood and to police for suspected criminal activities, said Superintendent Jeffrey Pelley, Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Officer in Charge. We fully anticipate this ongoing investigation and proactive enforcement will lead to the submission of charge recommendations as part of the assessment and approval process. We encourage the public to continue to provide assistance to police by reporting suspicious occurrences and sharing information with us, such as security video, which may be related to this or other offences.
