Suspect arrested and charged in Nanaimo homicide

On the morning of August 12, 2021, police received information about a potential homicide at a residence in Nanaimo, B.C.

Nanaimo RCMP officers attended at the residence and found 30-year-old Ryan Mosher deceased. The Nanaimo Serious Crime Unit assumed conduct of the investigation with assistance from the B.C Coroners Service.

The Nanaimo Serious Crime Unit conducted a meticulous investigation and prepared a comprehensive report for the B.C. Prosecution Service for charge approval.

Update:

The BC Prosecution Services approved a charge of first-degree murder for Desiree Mosher and on the morning of June 6, 2025, members of the Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Unit arrested Desiree Mosher. She is currently in custody awaiting a court appearance on June 16.
