Kamloops RCMP officers are investigating after a disturbance escalated into an assault with a weapon report.
On April 29, 2024, around 7:45 a.m., frontline officers were dispatched to an address on the 1600-block of Lac Le Jeune Road where a man could be heard screaming inside a residence. As police were en route, additional reports were received indicating an assault had occurred involving weapons.
On scene, two people were transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. At this time, the incident appears to be targeted and the general public is not believed to be at risk.

The investigation is still early and ongoing, with assistance from the General Investigations Support Team, Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Services, and frontline officers.
