Vanderhoof

On Monday, October 2, 2023 at 8:43 am, Vanderhoof RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 16, west of the community near McCall Road.
When police arrive on scene, they found the collision had involved several vehicles, including a Cadillac and a tractor trailer hauling logs for milling.
Sadly, the driver of the Cadillac, and adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injures were report to the police at that time.
Witness reported that the Cadillac had crossed the center line prior to the collision and collided with the east bound semi. The highway was closed for some time as police conducted a forensic examination of the scene, but has since been reopened.
At this time police are still investigating the incident and police are seeking dashcam video footage and are requesting anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events prior that led to the collision, to contact the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment at 250-567-2222.
Out of respect for the deceased, the Vanderhoof RCMP will not be releasing any names at this time.
