West Shore RCMP municipal staff and officers acknowledge the resilience of Indigenous Communities and honour those impacted by Residential Schools.
West Shore RCMP officers and municipal staff observed Orange Shirt Day & National Day of Truth and Reconciliation by breaking bread together.

This week members of the Indigenous Policing and Community Policing Units prepared a meal of Bannock and Lekwungen Tacos for everyone. Food is a good medium that allows us to come together and break down barriers and learn about culture.
It is important for us to show our support for the Indigenous communities that we serve, many of whom were forced to attend residential schools, and many more with family members who are survivors and victims. Said Cst Cole Brewer, a member of the Lower Similkameen Indian Band and a Constable within the West Shore RCMP Indigenous Policing Unit.
