33-year-old man charged with arson after 2023 fire that damaged business at Metrotown

A 33-year-old man is facing an arson charge after a fire that occurred in the loading bay of a business at Metrotown late in the evening of February 21, 2023.

Burnaby RCMP was called to the scene by the Burnaby Fire Department shortly after firefighters safely extinguished a fire in a loading bay area, which damaged part of the loading bay and a commercial trailer.

Burnaby RCMP’s Economic Crime Unit, which investigates arsons, took the lead and officers were able to obtain video surveillance. A suspect was later identified.

On May 22, 2024 the BC Prosecution Service approved a charge of arson against 33-year-old Romualdo Nick Enzo Ferrari.
