Police respond to a homicide in Penticton

On June 7, 2025 Frontline Penticton officers responded to a report of a person being shot at the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive. Officers located a woman with a significant gun-shot wound who was deceased inside an apartment building.

Penticton RCMP Investigative Services have since taken conduct of the homicide investigation. The death is an isolated event and there is no concern for public safety in relation to the incident. A person was arrested at the time and has since been released pending further investigation. Investigators are not identifying the victim at this time, as the investigation is in its early stages.

This is a tragic event we would like to offer our condolences to the victim’s friends and family at this time. We have engaged our victim services team and they are supporting those in need, says S/Sgt. Scott Hanry Penticton RCMP Investigative Services Commander. We would like to thank the public for their support as we continue to investigate this incident.
