On September 7, 2024, at 7:56 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer was patrolling in a marked police vehicle when he observed a vehicle without a rear licence plate in the 8100 block of Highway 3B, in Trail, BC. The officer detained the driver and vehicle roadside.
The officer discovered the 31-year-old Castlegar man was allegedly prohibited from driving a motor vehicle and his vehicle was uninsured. The officer located front plate on the vehicle but found it was registered to another vehicle.
The officer arrested the man for Drive while prohibited contrary to Section 95 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. The man was released at scene.
The officer also issued the man a $598 fine for Drive without insurance contrary to Section 24(3) of the BC MVA and a $109 fine for Wrong Number Plate contrary to Section 13(1)(c) of the BC MVA. His vehicle was impounded for up to seven days.

The officer made observations that lead him to believe the woman’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was allegedly impaired by alcohol. A demand was read to the woman who provided a sample of breath roadside that resulted in a warn.
The 23-year-old Montrose woman was issued a 3-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) under Section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. Her vehicle was impounded.
