File # 2025-420

On June 29th 2025 the Daajing Giids RCMP were contacted after a report was received that a male was being treated for injuries received in a targeted collision with a vehicle at a Daajing Giids residence.

Immediately after being made aware of the situation, members of the Daajing Giids RCMP detachment began canvassing witnesses and local surveillance for information on this incident. Through initial statements, it was believed that this was an intentional and unprovoked act resulting in the actions against the injured man.

Daajing Giids RCMP members conducted extensive patrols in an attempt to locate the identified suspect vehicle, later locating and seizing it for forensic processing

Officers worked tirelessly obtaining statements and canvassing for information and were led to believe that this was an isolated and targeted incident. Those believed to be involved were identified, and the process for searching for the crime vehicle used a lot of local resources said Daajing Giids Detachment Commander Sergeant Chris Manseau

On July 2nd 2025 significant information, contradicting initial statements was disclosed to the RCMP. This information changed the course of the investigation immediately. This previously withheld information, now brought to light, showed a violent altercation prior to the vehicle collision.

Based on this new information received, RCMP executed search warrants at multiple locations throughout Daajing Giids on July 2nd 2025. During the searches, police officers located several high-powered firearms, handguns, ammunition and prohibited weapons.

This new information showed a vastly different perspective of the initial incident, intentionally withheld from the attending RCMP members added Manseau Although unverified and unactionable rumours have circulated for some time, these seizures stand to confirm the threat level we are encountering within the illicit drug trade locally.

The investigation remains ongoing and the matter will be forwarded to BC Prosecution Services for review of potential charges. No further information is available at this time although more details may be released as they become available.

Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding the June 29th 2025 incident to reach out to the Dajing Giids RCMP at 250-559-4421 and reference file number 2025-420.
