Man drowns at Porteau Cove

On August 3, 2024 Squamish RCMP responded to a drowning in Porteau Cove Provincial Park. Bystanders and first responders attempted life saving measures but unfortunately the man died at the scene.

Squamish RCMP have notified the man’s next of kin of his passing. Officers determined that there was no criminality and have turned the investigation over to the BC Coroner Service.

Squamish RCMP would like to thank all those who assisted in the rescue attempt say Cpl. Brett Urano, RCMP spokesperson, Our condolences go out to the family and friends of this man during this tragic incident.
