Traffic stop ends with an arrest and seizure of drugs and cash

On Friday May 30, 2025, the Burns Lake Crime Reduction Unit (BLCRU) conducted a traffic stop on a person known to police. The BLCRU has an ongoing investigation involving the suspect.

The suspect was seen operating his vehicle and was stopped for a motor vehicle act offence. Police observed suspected drugs in plain view and arrested both the driver and passenger.

Drugs, knives and money

When police conducted a search incidental to the arrest they found over 30 grams of suspected crack cocaine, cocaine, over $500 in cash, cell phone and evidence of drug trafficking.

Further investigation resulted in a search warrant executed at the suspect residence where police
seized approximately 300 grams of suspected crack cocaine, cocaine, psilocybin, various prescription pills, illegal cigarettes, 15 tabs of LSD and over $10,000 cash. Items associated to drug trafficking were seized along with edged and blunt edged weapons. 

The suspect was released without process pending further investigation.
