One man has been arrested following an assault on the North Shore on Saturday morning.
Just before 9 a.m. on August 31, 2024 Kamloops RCMP officers were called to a residence on Fortune Drive for a report that two women had been assaulted inside the home.
The suspect, a 22-year old Kamloops man, fled from the residence with two small children.
Kamloops RCMP frontline and Police Dog Services officers flooded the area in an effort to locate the suspect and children, combing nearby locations and causing minor disruptions to traffic on the bridges leading from the North Shore, states S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment

Following a brief search, the suspect turned himself over to police at a park on Schubert Drive and was arrested without incident.
The children were unharmed and have been returned to the residence.
The suspect remains in custody and the investigation is continuing.
