File # 2025-2476
On May 19, 2025 at 4:04am Salmon Arm RCMP responded to a report of a downed power pole, and a break and enter at a local gas station near 10th St SW and Trans Canada Hwy.
On attendance police learned a vehicle had used a chain to pull the ATM out of the gas station, causing extensive damage. Police suspect the chain got caught on the power pole, which ripped the pole out. This caused a power outage that effected several businesses and residences in the area for several hours.
Parts of the ATM were located by police nearby. A stolen unoccupied vehicle suspected to be involved was also recovered later that morning near Yankee Flats. The file remains under further investigation.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Salmon Arm RCMP, please reference Salmon Arm RCMP file 2025-2476.
