File # File #24-4959

North Vancouver RCMP is providing an update relating to a collision that occurred in March of 2024 at a restaurant in North Vancouver.

On March16, 2024, just after 12 p.m., North Vancouver RCMP responded to reports of a collision in the drive-thru of a restaurant located on Marine Drive in North Vancouver. It’s alleged that a man driving a vehicle through the drive-thru hit the north wall of the building. The impact of the collision caused a deep fryer, which was situated on the inside of the wall that was struck, to shift and spill oil on an employee working nearby. The employee suffered serious injuries as a result.

On January 28, 2025, the BC Prosecution Service formally charged George Collins of North Vancouver with one count of driving without due care and attention, contrary to section 144(1)(a) of the Motor Vehicle Act.

This incident had devastating consequences for the victim and our thoughts remain with them as they continue their recovery, said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP.

As this matter is before the court, no further details will be provided.
