Richmond, BC Highway Patrol, Road Safety Unit

On September 15, 2023, officers of BC Highway Patrol – Burnaby and BC Highway Patrol - Fraser Coast – Integrated Road Safety Unit (BCHP-FC-IRSU) teamed up with partners Richmond RCMP, Richmond RCMP’s Road Safety Unit, Roadsafety BC, ICBC and the City of Richmond to conduct enforcement during the Province-wide Distracted Driving & Occupant Restraint Campaign.
Officers at various locations in Richmond were on the lookout for those motorists who were distracted by using electronic devices, as well as those who were buckled up improperly or not at all. Throughout the day, officers issued violation tickets for the following:
