Salmon Arm RCMP March 19 to April 1 2025, Calls for service: 261

March 26

Trans Canada Hwy: At 10:30pm Salmon Arm RCMP observed an older red Jeep Cherokee speeding as it approached 30th St NE. A traffic stop was conducted and empty containers of Hey Y’all’s were observed in the rear seat. The driver had slurred speech and stated his last alcoholic beverage was one hour prior. A breath demand was conducted, where the driver blew a fail. The driver declined his right to a second test. The vehicle was impounded for a mandatory minimum of 30 days, and the driver was prohibited from driving for 90 days. The matter was referred to RoadSafetyBC.

March 29

Eagle Bay Rd: A 20 year old man reported his mother attacked him and broke his stuff. Salmon Arm RCMP spoke with the young man who explained he had stomped his foot at his mother’s dog, which led to his mother pushing him, and moving his clothes and action figures onto the floor next to a garbage bag. Police spoke with the mother who explained her son refused to get a job, refused to go to school, and refused to do any chores in the house and was just freeloading off her. The mom added that her dog had got out and her son tried to kick the dog, leading to her telling him it was time to move out. Police attended the residence, the son packed his belongings and was picked up by his father to go to Kamloops.
