Last week, West Shore RCMP Indigenous and Community Policing officers along with a firefighter from View Royal Fire Department participated in a 2-day Child Passenger Safety Educator Course.
The officers and the firefighter are now equipped with the knowledge to ensure your kids are safely buckled into their seats thanks to training that was sponsored by ICBC.
The training culminated in a Child Car Seat Clinic at Admirals Walk Shopping Centre in View Royal. The candidate's put their skills to work, helping educate community members on car seat safety and proper installation.
"Kids, cars and seats come in all shapes and sizes, it can get a bit confusing. This training allows officers and firefighters to check over your car seat installation and ensure children are safe while riding in a vehicle," said Cst John Varley of the West Shore Community Policing Unit.
West Shore RCMP Community Policing Unit will be working with our community partners to set up future car seat clinics. For more information on car seat safety, check out ICBC website.
