Trail and Greater District

File # 2024-4273
On Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 4:10 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a 61-year-old Trail woman driving her vehicle erratically while travelling southbound on Highway 22, near Trail, BC. The officer located the woman and her vehicle and detained them roadside.
The officer made observations that lead him to believe the woman’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was allegedly impaired by alcohol. A demand was read to the woman who provided a sample of breath roadside that resulted in a fail.
The 61-year-old Trail woman was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) under Section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. Her vehicle was impounded for up to 30 days.
Trail RCMP and BCHP will be patrolling our highways to make them safer for travel. This a reminder that October 1 is the start of when winter tires are required on most routes in BC. Officers will be checking for compliance in the coming months.
