Burnaby RCMP to host information session on Auxiliary Program

On Wednesday July 23, Burnaby RCMP will be hosting an information session for those interested in becoming an Auxiliary volunteer.

Auxiliaries are valued part of the RCMP, a role that helps strengthen community and police partnerships, said Inspector Peri Mainwaring, Burnaby RCMP’s Community Programs Officer.

Auxiliaries are trained and authorized to perform non-enforcement, community policing and crime prevention activities such as:

Once all required training is complete, RCMP Auxiliaries Volunteers will receive a BC Police Act Appointment as a sworn peace officer. This training is approved by both the RCMP and the Provincial Ministry of Justice training.
