West Shore RCMP Faces Off Against Spencer Middle School in Floor Hockey Game

West Shore

2025-05-02 10:29 PDT

Earlier this week, members of the West Shore RCMP laced up their sneakers and faced off against students from Spencer Middle School for a game of floor hockey.

Members from the Community and Indigenous Policing Unit and the Bike Unit came out to play against the school’s hockey academy students. The officers gave it a solid effort, but it was the students who came out on top with an impressive 11–3 win!

This game is an annual tradition for us and Spencer School. Not only is it a ton of fun for all involved, but it’s part of our ongoing efforts to build strong, positive relationships with youth in our community, said Cst. John Varley from the Community and Indigenous Policing Unit. We’re already looking ahead to the inevitable rematch!
