See original release here from September 8, 2024: Police seeking public assistance in fatal hit and run.
The Terrace RCMP have advanced their investigation into the fatal hit and run that occurred on September 8, 2024 in the area of Old Lakelse Lake Drive and Clark Street, Terrace.
On September 10, 2024, officers obtained evidence leading them to identifying a vehicle owned by a local taxi company as the suspect vehicle. Officers have since located the vehicle and seized it. The local company has worked with the Terrace RCMP and are fully cooperating in the investigation to determine the cause of the motor vehicle incident.
Officers have identified the driver who has since fled Canada.
The Terrace RCMP’s General Investigation Section is leading the investigation and are working tirelessly to bring the matter to the BC Prosecution Service for charge assessment.
No further details will be released at this time. We would like to thank the public and businesses for their continued assistance in this tragic incident.
