Surrey, Lower Mainland District, Integrated Homicide Investigation Team
2025-05-05 12:25 PDT
File # 2025-478
Background:
On April 30, 2025, at approximately 10:45 pm, Surrey Police Service (SPS) responded to a missing person report. 25-year old Navdeep Dhaliwal was last seen at a residence in Surrey. He maintained regular contact with friends and family and therefore even this seemingly brief period without contact was highly unusual.
Due to the suspicious nature surrounding Mr. Dhaliwal’s disappearance, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was deployed and has since assumed conduct of the investigation.
Update:
IHIT continues to work in partnership with the SPS Serious Crime Unit and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) to determine the whereabouts of Mr. Dhaliwal.
Investigators are actively examining the last places he was seen, canvassing the neighbourhood and speaking with his family, friends and coworkers, says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. We are working diligently to follow the evidence and it is crucial that those with information about Mr. Dhaliwal to come forward to speak to investigators.
