On February 28, 2024 just after 7:00 pm, the Langley RCMP received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 200 Street and Michaud Crescent.
Officers arrived and found the BC Ambulance Services (BCAS) paramedics on scene communicating with a 14-year-old female youth from Langley who had been hit by the vehicle. The youth was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have determined that the driver of the vehicle was driving north on 200 Street approaching Michaud Crescent, while the pedestrian was seen running east towards Michaud Crescent.
The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old man from Langley, remained on the scene and cooperated with Police. Speed and any form of impairment are not believed to be contributing factors in this incident, however, the torrential rain may have reduced visibility in the area, says Cpl. Zynal Sharoom.
