Police are investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that left 3 individuals with serious injuries.

On Saturday October 26, 2024, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP responded to a report of a collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Mays Rd and the Trans-Canada Hwy. It was determined that a white sport utility vehicle (SUV) was turning left across the Trans-Canada Hwy when it was struck by a blue SUB travelling southbound on the highway.

The driver of the blue SUV sustained serious injuries and had to be airlifted to hospital. Both the driver and passenger of the white SUV also sustained serious injuries and had to be transported to hospital for treatment.

Portions of the Trans-Canada Hwy were closed for approximately 4 hours to allow for collection of evidence and a reconstructionist conduct a scene assessment.
