Loud music

On June 5th, 2025 at 10:07 pm, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a noise bylaw call in the Kildala Neighbourhood. It was reported that there was an ongoing party and the music was quite loud. The investigating officer attended the area and was able to clearly hear the sound that was disturbing the neighbours. A discussion was had with the occupants of the residence and the music was turned down. As the weather gets better and you are wanting to spend more time outside, please remember your neighbours and ensure you understand the Bylaws for noise. (2025-1913)

Intoxicated in public

While conducting patrols in the downtown Kitimat area at 11:30 pm on June 7th, a Kitimat RCMP officer observed a group of individuals walk into a trail and stopped to have a chat with them. It was found that one male appeared to be highly intoxicated. The male was arrested for causing a disturbance by being drink in public and was lodged in the Kitimat RCMP cells until the following day. When released, the male was issued a violation ticked for being intoxicated in a public place. (2025-1936)

Suspicious package

The Kitimat RCMP received a report of a suspicious cardboard package that was left beside an apartment door in the Kildala neighbourhood at 8:27 pm June 8th. The investigating officer attended the call for service and spoke with the complainant. After checking with a neighbour, it was found that the package had been placed there temporarily and would be picked up once they had completed a chore they were doing. (2025-1944)

Haisla Hill closed for collision

On June 9th at 2:10 pm, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision that closed Haisla Hill for just under two hours. The investigation revealed that a pick-up truck had pulled onto Haisla Blvd from Kingfisher Ave, causing a collision with a loaded water truck traveling southbound. A sharp turn by the water truck driver to avoid the collision resulted in the water truck rolling onto its side, landing partially on the pick-up truck. Two people from the pickup truck were taken to a local hospital by emergency health services with minor injuries. The driver of the pick-up truck was issued a violation ticket for driving without consideration. (2025-1955)

Disturbance results in an arrest

The Kitimat RCMP was dispatched to a Whitesail neighbourhood residence for a report of an assault at 12:31 am on June 10th. The responding officers attended and found that the suspect had caused injuries to another party and had left the scene. The suspect was quickly located and it was discovered that they were also breaching release conditions from a pervious file. The suspect was arrested for the assault and fail to comply with an order. The suspect was held in custody for a bail hearing and remanded in custody to attend court on a future date to answer to the charges. (2025-1962)

Wellbeing check

At 11:21 am on June 11th, the Kitimat RCMP was advised of a male that appeared to be passed out on a bench near the 100 block of Lahakas Blvd South. Investigating RCMP officers attended and located the male. Emergency health services attended the scene as well and it was found the male was intoxicated, however did not require medical services. The male was arrested for causing a disturbance by being intoxicated in public and lodged into the Kitimat RCMP cells, being released later in the day without charge. (2025-1983)
