File # 2024-32691
For the third time in 24 hours, Kamloops police responded to a high-risk situation that ended with a person being safely apprehended.
The most recent of the arrests – all unrelated – occurred Tuesday Oct. 1, 2024, around 5:30 p.m., at a camp on Jamieson Creek Forest Service Road. The Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment had been called to the area the night before, Sept. 30, 2024, for a report which involved a man who had allegedly pointed a firearm at a person. Frontline officers conducted extensive patrols of the area, but did not locate the suspect.
With the assistance of the RCMP Air Services and the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (SED ERT), the suspect was located and arrested the next day. He remains in custody for a bail hearing as part of the ongoing investigation.
This was the third time the SED ERT responded to Kamloops in a 24-hour period, with two of the occurrences overlapping at the same time, said Superintendent Jeff Pelley of the Kamloops and Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP detachments, referring to the Rose Hill assault in progress report which ended with a man being safely arrested on Oct. 1, 2024, around 2 p.m.
