Excessive speeder caught twice in six months

Not once, but twice within 6-months, a Comox Valley driver has had his vehicle impounded and issued a ticket for excessive speed. On November 22, 2023 at 3:49 p.m. a Comox Valley Municipal Traffic member was on Headquarters Road, when he observed a vehicle travelling at 112 km/hr (in a 60 km/hr zone). The Mini Cooper was impounded for 7 days and the driver issued a violation ticket for excessive speed. On March 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. the same Comox Valley Municipal Traffic member was on Veteran’s Memorial Parkway, when he observed a vehicle travelling at 106 km/hr (in a 60 km/hr zone). The member recognized the driver from their previous interaction on November 22, 2023. The Pontiac Firebird was impounded for 7 days and the driver issued a violation ticket for excessive speed.
