Grand Forks,
C.-B.

2024-05-23 10:14 HAP

Dossier nº Grand Forks RCMP 2024-1261

On May 22, 2024, Willard Trainor, a 96-year-old resident of the Silver Kettle Village, a senior community located on the 2300 block of 72nd Avenue in Grand Forks, BC was the victim of a theft. The item stolen was his E-bike valued at $3000. It is believed to have been stolen late Saturday night, May 18th or early Sunday morning. The bike was locked at the front entrance to the building in their bike rack, but the thief cut the lock and damaged the bike rack in order to steal the E-bike.

Grand Forks RCMP are investigating this theft, but would like to ask the public to keep an eye out for this E-bike. The bike is described as a Giant Momentum E-Plus E-bike, red in color. In addition, Grand Forks RCMP Victim Services is engaged and seeking support for Mr. Trainor.

Its disturbing on so many levels that someone would knowingly enter a senior community living residence and deprive a senior of his mode of transportation, stated Detachment Commander Sergeant Darryl Peppler. Mr. Trainor lost more then his bike, he lost his mobility and some measure of trust.
