On May 20, 2025, at 4:45 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a consensual fight between two men in the 700 block of Victoria Street, in downtown Trail, BC.
The two men got into an argument after a disagreement about a woman. The matter escalated until it turned physical. The fight ended when one man hit the other in the head with a soup can. No one was injured.
The dispute was ended by the attending officer. Both men left the scene without further incident.

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer was patrolling in an unmarked police vehicle when he spotted a truck and trailer struggling to maintain its speed and lane on Victoria Street, in Trail, BC. The officer detained the driver, truck and trailer roadside.
The officer discovered that the 50-year-old Kelowna man driving the vehicle was allegedly prohibited from driving a motor vehicle in British Columbia. The officer also discovered that the trailer attached to the truck had been reported stolen. The officer arrested the man for Drive while Prohibited contrary to Section 95 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. He was later released pending attendance to a future court date.
The truck was impounded for up to 7 days. The trailer and a small amount of a substance believed to be drugs were seized.
The investigation into the stolen trailer continues.

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:20 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a suspicious incident involving a group of youth and a vehicle on Columbia Gardens Road near Birch Avenue, in Fruitvale, BC.
The youth were walking along the road when approached by two individuals in a vehicle. One of the vehicle occupants asked one youth to get inside their vehicle. The youth fled from the vehicle.
An officer attended the area and did extensive patrols; however, did not locate the vehicle.
The vehicle is described as a blue or grey coloured cross-over style vehicle.

If you have any information about identity of the occupants or the whereabouts of the vehicle, or any video surveillance in the vicinity of the incident area, please call the Trail Detachment at 250-364-2566 to speak to an investigator.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 9:41 p.m. frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers and Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue firefighters responded to a report of an unconscious 61-year-old Trail man outside of a residence in the 700 block of Elliot Street, in Trail, BC.
The man had been hired to complete work at the property by the owner. Early in the day, a witness found the man slumped over in a chair and unresponsive. The witness called 911 and reported the emergency. Officers and firefighter responded immediately.
Firefighters attempted to revive the man on scene but were ultimately unsuccessful. An officer seized drug use paraphernalia during the incident.
Foul play is not suspected. The incident was turned over to the BC Coroner’s Service.

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a woman found standing alone in a pullout on Highway 3, near Rossland, BC.
A witness reported that the woman said her vehicle was stick on a trail nearby the pullout. The woman, her boyfriend, and their dog were trying to return to Castlegar; however, the woman declined a ride into town.
The officer attended the area and recovered a truck reported stolen in April 2025. The officer did not locate the woman and her boyfriend.
The woman is described as Caucasian, in her 20s, 5’7, average build, with dark, shoulder length hair with a red tinge, and a silver nose ring. She was wearing a dirty, reflective jacket and a grey hooded sweatshirt with a playboy bunny logo. She was in possession of a brown dog. Her boyfriend was described as Caucasian, 5’9, with tattoos on his arms and neck. He was wearing a hat.

A second incident was reported by another motorist involved this couple in the same area.
