On December 31 2023, West Shore RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at Elements Casino located at 1708 Island Hwy, View Royal, as numerous stolen tools were suspected to be inside the vehicle.

Officers attended and located a man and woman sitting inside a white F150. The pair who provide officers with false identification, were arrested for Identity Fraud, Obstructing a Police Officer and Possession of Stolen Property. In addition to the above, the male suspect was also arrested for Possession of Forged Documents.

Police searched the vehicle and seized multiple tools (fraudulently obtained by using stolen credit cards), high valued electronics including VR goggles, door bell cameras and more.

"Police also recovered a combination of several stolen cheque books, stolen identification cards, and stolen personal financial statements from over two dozen victims. We have already started contacting the victims in relation to this investigation, many of whom had previously reported their wallets as stolen," said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.
