June 12

5th Ave SW: At 3:30am Salmon Arm RCMP received a report from a complainant watching live CCTV footage of a male breaking into a cube van, steal tools and leave on foot, towing a bag. The complainant was able to provide police with a photo of suspect, which assisting police in locating the suspect nearby towing a hockey bag. The man was arrested for possession of property obtained by crime, and theft. Stolen tools recovered and returned to owner. Salmon Arm RCMP obtained charge approval for one count possession of property obtained by crime, and one count of theft against 34-year-old Ryan Charron. Charron was held for a bail hearing and remanded in custody.

June 13

10th Ave SW: At 1am Salmon Arm RCMP located a driver passed out in a parked black Chevrolet Tahoe with key in the ignition. The driver was awoken, and identified. Police learned the driver was prohibited from driving, the vehicle had no insurance, and was also subject to an overdue box 2 vehicle inspection. The 54-year-old male was served a future court date for the offence of driving while prohibited, a violation ticket for no insurance in the amount of $598, a box 1 vehicle inspection, and a new notice of prohibition from driving.

June 16

Salmon Arm: A 17-year-old male requested a check well being on his girlfriend. The youth advised he was caught sneaking around with his 17-year-old girlfriend and her parents caught them, and he was no longer allowed to see her. The young man had been told by his girlfriend that her parents were moving her to Alberta. As there were no safety concerns, and police support parents doing parenting, the young man was informed that police would not be assisting him in his attempts to continue that relationship. 

June 19

3rd St SW: At 10:50am Salmon Arm RCMP received a report of a stabbing. Police attended and the alleged offender was pointed out by several witnesses on scene. After being told he was under arrest, the man resisted arrest, and required three officers to get him into handcuffs. Police obtained victim and witness statements, and video surveillance. Salmon Arm RCMP obtained charge approval against Jamison Lynch for one count aggravated assault, one count assault with a weapon, one count assault peace officer, one count obstruct peace officer. Lynch was held for a bail hearing, and subsequently remanded by a judge.

June 24

24th St NE: A man reported ongoing neighbour issues, including the neighbours kids kicking soccer balls into his yard and trampling the garden. The complainant advised he had tried to speak with the neighbour about the issues, but the neighbour began screaming and swearing at him when he brought it up. Police spoke with the neighbour who appeared receptive to his children knocking on the complainant’s door before retrieving their soccer balls, and make efforts to otherwise stay away from each other.
