On August 1, 2023 at approximately 8:30 am, BC Highway Patrol – Chilliwack, Integrated Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Service (ICARS) and BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) attended a report of a collision between a car and a commercial flatbed truck on the Coquihalla Highway # 5 north of Hope. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
BCHP – Chilliwack has conduct of the investigation which is still in the very early stages. Although all avenues of investigation are being pursued, drugs or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors.
Motorists are asked to check DriveBC for traffic updates. No further information is available.
