On Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 2:17 p.m., a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report that someone had run full speed head first into the side of a residence in the 2000 block of Cook Avenue, in Rossland, BC. The officer and EHS attended the scene.
The officer located a 30-year-old Rossland man with a head injury who did not remember how he ended up on the neighbour’s property. The man admitted that he was under the influence of a drug.EHS transported the man to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.He is reported to remain in hospital in serious condition.

Bear Smart
On Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 6:08 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a parked vehicle stuffed with garbage that attracted bears in the 100 block of Haig Street, in Warfield, BC.
The officer contacted the registered owner and asked the person to remove the garbage from the vehicle. The matter was also reported to the City of Warfield.
Please be aware that bears are out of hibernation and looking for any available food source. Garbage is a key attractor. Please secure all garbage until the morning of trash collection in your neighbourhood, says Sgt. Wicentowich

On Monday, April 21, 2025, at 9:50 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report that a 31-year-old Trail man had alleged stolen an armful of chocolate bars and fled from a local business in the 700 block of Victoria Street, in Trail, BC.

The officer located the man a short distance away from the store. When the officer hailed the man by his name, the man began to run away from the officer at a very slow speed. The officer followed the man and asked him to stop several times before arresting him. During the arrest, the alleged armful of stolen chocolate bars scattered in all directions.
The officer later released the man on conditions not to return to the business.
The 31-year-old Trail man will make his first appearance on May 29, 2025, in Provincial Court, in Rossland, BC.
A report will be forward to Crown Counsel.
