Mission RCMP would like to wish everyone in Mission and our neighbouring communities a happy new year.
2023 was a very busy year for Mission RCMP, finishing off the year with 15,797 police files – an increase of more than 600 from the year before. During the responses to those files, officers had the opportunity to interact with thousands of people throughout our communities.
Some of those interactions were obviously during difficult situations, says Corporal Harrison Mohr with Mission RCMP, such as where a law was broken, somebody was hurt, or someone facing overwhelming struggles – from mental health issues, addiction, homelessness, or family matters – needed help. However, there were also many positive interactions, including youth outreach, connecting with the community at various events, returning stolen items to their rightful owners, or successfully mediating disputes between people. Our communities have so many good people in them in all walks of life, and we aim to support both the individuals and the community as a whole, so we can grow safer and stronger together.

Mission RCMP looks forward to continuing to serve our communities this year, and are always open to taking information from the public. If you need immediate help, call 911. If it’s a non-urgent situation, or you just don’t know whether a matter should be reported, give us a call (604-826-7161), report online (search Mission RCMP online reporting), or come by the detachment, and we’ll see how we can help.
