File # 2024-9865 / 2024-9898

RCMP arrested a man for being in possession of a stolen logging truck.

On November 13, 2024 at approximately 2:40 A.M., a logging truck and trailer were stolen from a business on Quesnel Hixon Road in Quesnel. The thieves are also suspected to be involved in other thefts from the same area. The trailer was located later that day abandoned. The logging truck has an estimated value of about $65,000.

On November 14, 2024 at approximately 7:30 A.M., the stolen truck was spotted on Highway 97 near Alexandria. The RCMP located the vehicle in the McLeese Lake area. The suspect attempted to flee from the police on a stolen motorcycle. The Quesnel RCMP with assistance from William Lake RCMP, RCMP Air Services and Police Dog Services were able to quickly apprehend the 29-year-old man.

Thanks to the hard work and coordinated efforts of all those involved, we were able to safely apprehend the suspect and recover the stolen truck and motorcycle, says Sgt. Clay Kronebusch. The man will appear before a judge later today.
