File # 2024-2459

During the week of November 4 - 10, 2024 the Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit (CC-CRU) and members of North District GIS (ND GIS) were in the Fort Nelson area to assist with targeted enforcement on local organized crime groups.

Throughout the week CC-CRU, ND GIS and the Northern Rockies RCMP executed seven search warrants on properties throughout the Fort Nelson area.

As a result of the investigation, police located and seized 2.6 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, 2.5 kilograms of suspected cocaine, 1.75 kilograms of marijuana, 400 grams of suspected crack cocaine, five (5) firearms, approximately 150 cartons of illicit cigarettes and $10,000 cash.

The RCMP is committed to battling organized crime in all communities across Canada. These significant seizures will contribute to the disruption of the drug trade in the Fort Nelson area. Charge approval will be sought for the individuals responsible for causing so much harm to our communities said Cst Nathan Smith, Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit.

Four people were arrested and released as the investigation continues. More information may be released as it becomes available.
