The Daajing Giids and Masset RCMP along with members of Search and Rescue (SAR) and Old Masset Fire Department are currently searching for Richard Smith who was reported missing on September 20, 2023.
Richard Smith was last seen early in the morning of September 20, 2023 when he was mushroom picking on the Drill Main Forest Service Road.
Description of Richard Smith:
Members of the Old Masset Fire Department searched the area late into the evening, and have since returned early this morning. Search and Rescue volunteers are now on scene to assist with the search for Richard said Sergeant Chris Manseau, Detachment Commander, Daajing Giids RCMP The public is asked to remain out of the area of the Drill Main Forest Service Road while the search for Richard is ongoing
