Police are investigating a stranger sexual assault

Police are actively investigating a report of a sexual assault of an elderly woman in Cobble Hill, BC.

On July 23, 2024, just after 9:00 p.m., Shawnigan Lake RCMP responded to the area of Carlton Dr after receiving a report that an elderly woman had been sexually assaulted after an unknown man entered her home.

The RCMP Police Dog Service initially attended the area alongside frontline officers but was not able to track the suspect.

The suspect is described as:

Investigators were able to seize exhibits which will be subject to forensic analysis stated Corporal Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the RCMP in British Columbia. The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information or who may possess video surveillance in the area to come forward.

At this time, there are no known connections to any other sexual assaults reported. The victim is being supported by Victim Services.
