Kamloops police are anticipating charge recommendations for a July 31 North Shore shootinginvestigation, following an arrest yesterday.
On Aug. 17, 2023, the Kamloops General Investigations Support Team, accompanied by frontlineofficers and members of the Targeted Enforcement and Serious Crimes units, executed searchwarrants at two locations on the North Shore. A man was arrested as part of the ongoinginvestigation that began on July 31, when a woman was shot near Schubert Drive and RichmondAvenue, resulting in serious injuries.
Although this incident is believed to be targeted, this kind of offence impacts the safety of acommunity; addressing such violence and advancing its corresponding investigations remains apriority for our detachment, said Superintendent Jeff Pelley, Kamloops RCMP Detachment Officer inCharge Thankfully, with the diligent efforts of our investigators and support from the public, wehave been able to identify and arrest a suspect, who was taken into custody, then released by policeon a series of conditions and a court date, as per process. Charge recommendations will besubmitted as part of the consideration and approval procedures.
