A man arrested in Kamloops this Friday is facing several charges related to an assault with a weapon investigation in Tk’emlúps.
On Feb. 16, 2024, Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment officers attended an address on the Skeetchenstn Reserve as part of an investigation into assault and breach of no-contact allegations. A few hours later, Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the 500-block of Notre Dame Drive for a report of an intoxicated man who was refusing to leave, at which point, they located the suspect from the Tk’emlúps report.
The officer took the suspect into custody and he was held for court, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. He was remanded in-custody to await his next appearance, scheduled for Feb. 23.

The man, who is not being named to protect the privacy of the victim, is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.
