The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 226 calls between March 22 and 28, 2025. Below are a few highlights of those calls.
On the morning of March 23, RCMP received a report of a stolen GMC Canyon from Copper River Road (2025-2073). Throughout the course of this investigation, a Chevrolet Silverado was located in the Thornhill area and identified as stolen out of Alberta. This vehicle was towed to a secure location for further investigation. (2025-2076). The GMC Canyon was located in Terrace on March 24. The same man and woman are suspected to be involved in both of these occurrences and the investigations are ongoing.
On March 23, a woman was contacted by someone on Facebook Marketplace asking to purchase an item that she was selling. The fraudster used a profile name of William Joe Leotardo. The fraudster sent a link to the woman’s email address and asked for personal information. When the woman suspected this to be a scam, she contacted her bank and learned that an attempt had been made to transfer money between her accounts. No money was lost as the bank was able to lock her account in time. RCMP wish to remind the public to be cautions of potential scammers and never give out personal information. (2025-2099)

On March 27, BC Highway Patrol was conducting regular patrols on Highway 113 and observed a vehicle speeding. Police radar showed the vehicle to be travelling at a rate of 110 km per hour in a posted 80 km per hour zone. A traffic stop was conducted with the vehicle and the driver was found to not have a valid drivers licence. The man was issued a violation ticket for speeding, a notice of vehicle impound and a notice of driving prohibition. A family member came to give the man a ride home. (2025-2241)
At approximately 10:00 pm on March 27, RCMP were conducting routine patrols in the area of Kalum Street and Keith Avenue. An officer observed a black SUV stop at a red traffic light, however the vehicle remained stopped for the duration of the green light as well. A traffic stop was conducted with the SUV and a breath sample was obtained from the driver which resulted in a warn, indicating there was alcohol in her blood. The woman was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and issued a three-day immediate roadside prohibition and a three-day vehicle impound. The woman was picked up by family. (2025-2247)
