A Kamloops resident was taken into custody yesterday following a visible police presence on the North Shore throughout the morning.
On Monday March 17, 2025, multiple Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were in the Brocklehurst area first at 3 a.m. for a report of a break and enter in progress at a property on Windbreak Street, then again around 7 a.m., for a call involving threats with a weapon on the 800-block of Evergreen Place.
Just before 9 a.m., the investigation resulted in police arresting a suspect related to both occurrences, at a commercial location on the 1800-block of Tranquille Road, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. He was held in custody for a bail hearing, during which he was remanded until his next court appearance scheduled for this afternoon, March 18.

Shane Lee McLeod, 25 years old, of Kamloops is charged with break and enter, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of break-in instruments.
