The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 202 calls between January 1 and January 9, 2025. Below is a summary of those calls:
January 2, 2025 – At 2:00 am, Terrace RCMP responded to a report of an impaired driver who was seen driving away from the area of McNeil Street. Police located the vehicle which was being driven by a man who had 5 passengers in the vehicle. The man was found to be prohibited from driving and an odor of liquor was detected on him. Police began an impaired investigation and determined the man to be impaired by alcohol. Terrace RCMP intend to forward charges to BC Prosecution Services. (2024-33)
January 3, 2025 – At approximately 6:30 pm, police received a report of mischief to windows at the Fix Café and Cyclery on Tetrault Street. The suspect is reported to have thrown rocks at the Café windows causing them to break and is described as male, short in stature, wearing a grey and yellow jacket. On January 8, the suspect was identified through CCTV, and was located and arrested by police. Results of the investigation will be forwarded to BC Prosecution Services for consideration of Mischief charges. (2025-79)
January 4, 2025 – At approximately 8:30 pm, Terrace RCMP received a request to assist EHS with a single vehicle which had rolled over in the area of Gila Guaw Street. The female driver was the lone occupant and was able to exit the vehicle. Police arrived to find the vehicle in a ditch and on its roof. The woman had an odor of liquor on her and displayed other signs of impairment. Police arrested the woman for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and proceeded with an impaired investigation. The woman refused to provide a breath sample and she was then arrested for failure to provide a breath sample. She was later released with a court date to deal with the charges. (2025-102)
January 8, 2025 – While on routine patrol, RCMP noted a vehicle travelling on Keith Ave which had inactive insurance. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found the driver to have an inactive driver’s license. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was served a notice of driving prohibition and issued a violation ticket for no insurance and no driver’s license. The driver was given a courtesy ride to his residence. (2025-172)
