A baseball bat was observed sticking out of the man’s backpack, meanwhile police were aware the man was on conditions to not possess any weapons. The man was arrested for failing to comply with order. A further search revealed a large 30cm long serrated blade. The man was held for a bail hearing. Police obtained charge approval for two counts fail to comply with release order against 30 year-old Jordan Merasty. Jordan Merasty was denied bail and remanded in custody.

December 24

Salmon Arm: At 5pm a 39-year-old woman reported to police that her hotel room she had just checked into was very dirty, and the hotel was refusing to refund her money. The woman was threatening to jump over the counter and there will be an issue. Salmon Arm RCMP attended but the woman had departed. Hotel staff advised that the woman had booked through an online 3rd party so the hotel was unable to refund her as the refund would be processed through the 3rd party retailer.
