2024-07-09 12:46 HAP
Dossier nº 2024-4004
On July 8th, 2024 at 5:53 AM the Prince Rupert RCMP received a call for service from an unknown male who stated that his niece had just been sexually assaulted in Moresby Park and that they required police and an ambulance there immediately.
Unfortunately, the call was disconnected before pertinent information could be obtained from the male to advance the investigation, including his name or his niece’s name. Front line members immediately attended the area of Moresby Park and conducted extensive foot patrols, however, the possible victim was not located and has not been identified.
Checks were conducted with community partners and neighbourhood enquiries were completed which have yielded no further investigational leads.
The RCMP is asking for the male who called for help to identify himself or for the victim to call the Prince Rupert RCMP, Media Relations Officer Constable Brody Hemrich said, Reports of sexual assault are taken very seriously and the RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance with regards to this investigation.
