The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is releasing the image of a person of interest in an arson investigation.
On June 3, 2025, around 2:25 a.m., police responded to a report of a dumpster on fire near the 100-block of Victoria Street West. Kamloops Fire Rescue attended and extinguished the fire.

This investigation is one of at least half a dozen fire reports in the downtown area over the last month, most of which were in dumpsters, said Corporal Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. Whether or not the fires are related is part of the ongoing investigation.

An image of a man who was in the area near the time of the June 3 fire, is being released to the public in hopes of identifying him to help further the investigation.
Anyone who recognizes the man or has more information is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2025-17103.
