Break and enter at Putters Mini Golf

On January 23, 2025 at approximately 10:30am, Powell River RCMP responded to a report of an audible and monitored alarm at Putters Mini Golf.

Upon arrival, it was determined that the ice cream shop had been broken into, several items had been taken and there was significant damage to the store.

Powell River RCMP is asking anyone with any information on this to please contact the Powell River RCMP at 604-485-6255 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS (8477) or go online at www.bccrimestoppers.com. Calls to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous.

Facebook Marketplace scam

On January 25, 2025, Powell River RCMP received a report that three different people had e-transferred money for the same item on Facebook Marketplace.

The seller advertised the item, asked for money via e-transfer and then gave a Powell River address for pick up. The address did not belong to the seller and the account came back with a message that the person was no longer available when the buyers attempted further contact.

Powell River RCMP cautions about sending money to anyone that you do not know. Consider meeting in person for cash payments instead.

If you are sending money to someone you know, always verify with that person that they are expecting a payment by phoning or sending them a message outside of social media.
