Campbell River RCMP Street Crimes Unit makes drug and firearms seizure

On September 6, 2024, members of the Campbell River Street Crime Unit with assistance from the Major Crime Unit and Community Response Unit executed a search warrant on a location in the 900 block of Island Highway South, as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

A large stash of illicit drugs was located at the location. Over 100 grams of fentanyl, over 70 grams of powder cocaine, over 40 grams of crack cocaine, and a significant amount of Dilaudid (Hydromorphone pills) were seized. Police also located and seized a large sum of cash, firearms, replica handguns and other assorted weapons, which included a prohibited conducted energy weapon and switchblade.

A 39 year old man and 40 year old woman, both from Campbell River were arrested on scene and released with a future court date. The Campbell River RCMP will be forwarding a detailed report to Crown Counsel for consideration of Criminal and Controlled Drug and Substance Act charges.
