Celebrating service and passing the baton

West Shore

2023-07-26 08:22 PDT

Very special moment for us here today at West Shore RCMP. In the picture below, you see Retired Staff Sergeant Mark Groulx, handing over his Corporal Epaulettes to his daughter Meghan Groulx who was just promoted to Corporal Rank. Mark served as police officer for 31 years and was even able to work a shift with his daughter before retiring.

Two chevrons pointing down are worn on the shoulders of the officer holding the rank of Corporal.

Many of our officers have a long line of service in their families, we thank them for their service. This picture captures the baton being passed from one generation to the next. Congratulations Cpl. Meghan Groulx!
